Ohlins 85cc MX Cartridge Kit

Ohlins 85cc MX Cartridge Kit Öhlins proudly presents the newest member of the MX cartridge family… the 85cc Cartridge Kit. Rear shocks have been around for a while now but the new junior Cartridge Kit completes the front end product strategy for the MX segment. The Kit is based on the design and experience gained from the powerful and popular Cartridge Kit for the bigger MX bikes but it does not hold a TTX design as the outer tubes are smaller but it features the well proven hydraulic stop design for bottoming resistance. Despite that fact the new 85cc Cartridge Kit is pressurized which means that the damping response is much quicker and the dynamic behaviour is superior to standard, nonpressurized systems on the market.

This Kit is the perfect product for all talented, young riders that want to make a serious attempt to climb up on the result boards in national elite classes. Concerning installation and service the new Kit is a real treat for the average, handy mechanic. The principal is just the same as the big brother in the Cartridge Kit family… just pull out the original inserts and pop in the new Kit. If you can change springs on your bike you can for sure install the new kit as well.

Ohlins MX Steering Damper 2.1

Ohlins MX Steering Damper It has been on the market since 1992 and was praised from the very start. The evolution of technological solutions has been added to the design throughout the years but now it is time to launch a whole new concept…

The new silhouette is a result of a much easier way of mounting the damper under the handlebar. The new steering damper is now equipped with a completely new valving system, eliminating any fluctuation of the damping characteristics depending on making a left or a right turn.

The new UniFlow feature is actually a system that controls the flow of the hydraulic fluid into only one direction hence the new fluctuation free damping curve.

The system is also pressurized to compensate any temperature changes. The steering damper is available for Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha. The new easy way of mounting the damper broadens the list of MX bikes that can be fitted with this new model.

Ohlins TTX44 Rear Shock

The TTX44 is built especially for championship riders but serious private riders can of course lay their hands on this masterpiece from the R&D department at Öhlins through the Öhlins distributor network.

Motocross is the ultimate test for the R&D department with the roughest and toughest conditions. To achieve the very best performance of this new shock absorber, one more thrilling feature has been added…

The CSC (Chassis Stability Control) technology. This function enables the rider to set up the bike for different track conditions. The chassis is tuned with the low speed movements which are controlled via the CSC valve.

NOTE! The CSC function is not to be mixed up with the rebound and compression adjusters that determine the exact feature of the damper depending on weight, comfort and riding technique.

Ohlins TTX22 Cartridge Kit MX

Never mind the outside… it’s the inside that counts. Engineers at Öhlins HQ put all their attention on making a universal kit with the powerful TTX technology to give all MX junkies out there a price competitive masterpiece with tons of performance and handling.

The thing is that you can keep your standard Front Fork legs, just pull out the standard inserts and pop in the new kit. The completely new MX Front Fork Cartridge kit is based on TTX technology which means a positive pressure balance in the system, thanks to the twin tube technology. The gas pressurized dividing piston inside does an excellent job pushing the hydraulic fluid back into the low pressure side and the end result is better performance and no more cavitation.

The 8 mm steel hollow piston rod makes the kit somewhat lighter and the main piston diameter will be 22 mm. All other details will be in aluminium and the only inconsistency will be the length of the kit depending on the model of the bike. For 2010, the cartridge kit features a new one-way rebound valve to completely separate the compression and rebound damping, for improved performance and better wheel control.

The evolution of lubrication fluids is a never ending story and Öhlins Racing AB is committed to offer the latest technology to all our customers.

This autumn we will launch a completely new shock absorber fluid with very high durability in both hot and cold conditions, and viscosity as low as 11cSt at 40o Celsius. The fluid has a very high viscosity index and it will be a trusty friend in your shock for a long time thanks to an increase in the wear out performance. You will also have less fading in your shock due to the new recipe.

NEW RANGE FRONT FORK FLUID Together with the new shock absorber fluid Öhlins is just about to introduce a powerful, new range of front fork fluid that will give you the best possible performance when riding on your bike. This new front fork fluid has a viscosity index that is almost three times wider than its predecessors, and it is designed to lower the friction in your front fork. The engineers at STATOIL have found a way to cut friction with more than 30%! Quick air release and high resistance against foaming is another two strong ingredients and combined with long life time this new front fork fluid is the perfect match for your front fork.

Ohlins Motocross/Enduro Philosophy

It is on the motocross tracks and the enduro trails that shock absorbers have to seriously show what they can handle. Extremely rough treatment, jumps, rocks and mud are just some of the things they have to deal with. Over and over again.

We have been making shock absorbers in this segment for over 30 years and many championship titles have been won on our suspension throughout the years. This is where the demands are greatest and where the development is taking place fastest.

However, at Ohlins we make motocross and enduro shocks for the entire spectrum of riders, from world champions to talented amateurs.

Everyone wants to have a shock absorber that enhances their bike and spurs them on to greater performance. With the improved traction and stability that the Ohlins shock absorber offers, the ride becomes both safer and more secure. With an Ohlins shock absorber, lap-times are forced down somewhat, speed out of the bends corners is increased slightly and safety margins are raised.

To be in a position to manufacture shocks for riders who are part of the world elite, we test them with the aim of satisfying the needs and standards set by excellent and reasonable good riders. In this way we can start with a normal rider with high standards and develop shocks that are exactly suited to the riders expectations.

At Ohlins we set about things thoroughly. Every season we test all new motorcycles on carefully chosen tracks, motocross with motocross riders, enduro with enduro riders. All of the riders are experienced and have the “feel” needed to achieve the right results.

We start by testing the bikes with the original shocks. Then we test Öhlins shocks on every motorcycle model and make the adjustments best suited to each particular bike.

An Ohlins shock absorber improves the motorcycle’s performance. This applies to everything from comfort and traction to stability and bottoming resistance. Everyone who tries the standard shocks first and then Ohlins shocks, immediately feels the substantial difference.

But however good we are at designing customised shocks, we naturally still attend to individual preference; After all, all riders have their own style and their own requirements. Our shocks can consequently be adjusted externally so that a shock absorber can easily be created on the track that is perfect for current requirements.
